SHB Express still going strong - PICMG 1.3 application examples
PICMG got its start back in 1994 with the development of the first edge card computing industry standard: PICMG 1.0. Since then edge card computing has evolved to incorporate the latest PCI Express interface methodology and implementation standards in the SHB Express or PICMG 1.3 industry standard.

2017 marks significant changes for PICMG
Last year ended with the loss of Joe Pavlat, who successfully led this organization for over 20 years. He worked with members to establish PICMG as a global leader in open standards for embedded computing. We are grateful for his service and will continue to build and improve the organization he helped found.

DIC551 - a Golden Key to Open the Doors of the CompactPCI Serial World
Many equipment manufacturers, who want to meet the requirements of the modern technical level, consider the CompactPCI Serial standard a rather attractive solution. However, generally there are at least two obstacles for that: necessity to implement the "inherited" interfaces and to develop proprietary modules that fulfill unique functions. In order to meet these conditions the manufacturers previously had to develop the CompactPCI Serial module starting "from the scratch", which was impossible for the most domestic manufacturers. Now, these conditions are successfully met by Fastwel DIC551.

Enhance cooling on COM Express Type 7 server-on-modules
The processing demands in carrier-grade telecommunication infrastructures, server farms, and distributed Internet of Things (IoT) edge and fog server applications are increasing rapidly. The level of processing now needed is driving the development of a new generation of modular servers that are more powerful but smaller, and integrate more cores but consume less power per core.

Design of Embedded Single Board Computer Power Supply
Embedded operating speed is high, the system is more complex, often integrated ultra-large-scale FPGA devices, DSP devices, DDR memory and a variety of interface circuits. This puts higher demands on the output voltage, power, voltage accuracy, power-up sequence, and power integrity of the power supply. Here is a CPCI-based embedded single-board computer power supply design. The design is mainly used in aviation equipment and military vehicle equipment.
