VadaTech Announces New Packet Processor AMC Based on Cavium OCTEON (r) II CN67XX
This AMC provides two 10G fabric interface ports to the backplane in addition to dual GbE on the base interface, together with two SFP+ front-panel connectors and up to 16GB of memory.
“This is our third generation of network AMC based on the Cavium OCTEON ® processor range,” said Saeed Karamooz, founder and CEO of VadaTech. “With a growing need for increased levels of network security, we are seeing a strong market for the processing density and scalability provided by this product.”
The CN67XX processors offer high compute performance for demanding 4G/LTE infrastructure and other high-performance appliances, with application acceleration including packet processing, encryption/decryption, Deep Packet Inspection (RegEx), compression/decompression, de-duplication, and offering multi-core scaling. The AMC734 provides 8 or 16 cnMIPS64 v2 cores and is available in both Application Acceleration Processor and Communication Processor variants.
