Performance Technologies (NASDAQ: PTIX), a leading developer of communication platforms and systems, today announced that its Advanced Managed Platforms™ (AMP) will be utilized by WINGcon, a wireless telecommunications consulting company in Germany, for railway communication systems in Europe.

ROCHESTER, NY – September 23, 2008 – Performance Technologies (NASDAQ: PTIX), a leading developer of communication platforms and systems, today announced that its Advanced Managed Platforms™ (AMP) will be utilized by WINGcon, a wireless telecommunications consulting company in Germany, for railway communication systems in Europe.

The AMP system will be used for WINGcons wide-ranging GSM-Railway communication solutions that include Blackbox Recording Center (BBRC), Short Message Service Center (SMSC), Short Message Service (SMS) gateways, location-based services, as well as billing mediation devices.

Performance Technologies Advanced Managed Platforms are built on the companys broad range of Ethernet switches, single board computers, I/O subsystems, and its CGL 4.0 Registered Linux® OS and development environment, NexusWare®. The ready-to-use platforms feature intelligent and comprehensive management throughout all active components. Tightly integrated, the Advanced Managed Platforms reduce development time and ensure interoperability. A key feature of the AMP line of products is the Intelligent Shelf Manager (ISM) that provides comprehensive shelf management and remote system monitoring. This enables end users to monitor the system's status anywhere, anytime via an Internet connection. The AMP communication products also feature “hot-swap” slot control and redundant power supply capabilities that maintain maximum system availability.

"Performance Technologies tightly integrated Advanced Managed Platform gives us a solid framework on which to build our communication systems. This will enable us to deploy sophisticated and reliable systems for railway communication networks," said WINGcon Managing Partner Norbert Schäfer. "Their continued leadership in telecommunications technology assures us and our customers that we will have the industrys most reliable communications infrastructure."

"We are thrilled to be working with WINGcon on this project and look forward to a long-term partnership with them in providing unrivaled communication solutions," said Robert Potter, vice president of EMEA at Performance Technologies.
