DesignArt Networks acquired by Qualcomm

Small cell pioneer DesignArt Networks has been acquired by Qualcomm in an effort to add the company’s System-on-Chip (SoC) platforms into Qualcomm cellular base stations and wireless backhaul infrastructure too boost the data capacity of mobile networks. DesignArt’s LTE and backhaul solutions can be used to economically and simply design of small cell base stations and remote radio heads

The low-power, high throughput solutions are designed for simultaneous operation of numerous backhaul and cellular modems, making them ideal for use in Heterogenous Networks (HetNets). In addition, the acquisition provides Qualcomm with DesignArt’s Wi-Fi, Passive Optical Networking (PON), and Ethernet connectivity offerings.
